Immigrant tweens or a tween whose native language is not English must learn English to fit in socially and academically. The majority of tweens in this demographic are reading below a second grade reading level. School textbooks are written at-level, leaving them little room to succeed. Our hope with these series is to give ELL tweens real-world information along with great fictional stories at lower reading levels, so they can not only increase reading fluency and math numeracy but also assimilate with success.
