GO! Welcome SLIFE® was created for English-learning tweens who may be migrant students, refugees, or students who, for other reasons, have had limited or interrupted formal education. While the reasons behind each student's gap in schooling may differ, their needs as they start over are similar. Built around five genres and 20 key topics, the library pairs an emergent-level nonfiction book with a fiction story for each topic, so students see a skill explained and then see it put into practice. A comprehensive instructional guide, including lesson plans, vocabulary instruction, strategic reading questions, and assessments, supports the collection, along with 200 content-related vocabulary cards (10 words per topic) to build the vocabulary striving readers need most.
